Domestic Crimes - Thursday, June 14, 2018

ASSUMPTION – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dariel L. Williams, Jr., 20, of 707 San Blas Mission Street, Hidalgo, Texas, on charges related to a domestic dispute which occurred on June 12, 2018 and June 13, 2018 at a local RV park.

On Wednesday afternoon, deputies responded to a welfare concern and made contact with a female subject.  The woman advised that her boyfriend had been repeatedly beating on her and would not allow her to leave.  The victim advised that the suspect, whom she identified as Dariel L. Williams, Jr., had attempted to strangle her as well at a time when she had the couple’s newborn child in her arms.

Deputies stopped Williams as he returned from work and interviewed him concerning the allegations.  Based on admissions during that interview as well as physical signs of abuse on the victim, Williams was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:

            *Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment

            *Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation

Williams was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
