Sheriff's S.W.A.T. Team Exercise - Monday, June 11, 2018

DATE:             MONDAY, JUNE 11, 2018
TO:                  ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
FROM:            SHERIFF LELAND FALCON
SUBJECT:      SHERIFF’S SWAT TEAM EXERCISE

TEXAS BRINE PROPERTIES – GRAND BAYOU

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon has invested a lot of time and resources in equipping and maintaining the Special Weapons and Tactical Unit (S.W.A.T.).  To be effective, Falcon knows that actual physical training exercises are the most important to ensure the progress and effectiveness of the group.

Texas Brine Company, LLC and Sheriff Falcon reached an agreement sometime ago which would allow Falcon’s specialized team to train with some very high tech and powerful equipment.

After completing settlements with residents affected by the August 2012 sinkhole, Texas Brine took control of a vast majority of the properties involved.

Following the Paincourtville tornado, Texas Brine teamed up with Pastor Brad Collins to put many of those structures in the hands of people who lost their properties in the storms.

Texas Brine donated 109 homes and other structures to families and provided a $50,000 donation to Community Worship Center to offset relocation costs for the first eight homes.

There were numerous structures that remained and those were offered to Sheriff Falcon’s Office, local fire departments, as well as the Louisiana State Police.

On Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office conducted all day S.W.A.T. training which included building entry, use of percussion grenades, door breechings and a number of other S.W.A.T. related exercises.

Sheriff Falcon wishes to thank Texas Brine for allowing the Sheriff’s Office to conduct the high tech training.

Following the event, Texas Brine Executive Bruce Martin, recognized Sheriff Falcon, all first responders, as well as Pastor Collins.  Texas Brine provided lunch to all who were involved in Saturday’s exercises.

The Pierre Part Volunteer Fire Department trained Saturday as well.
