Drug Law Violatons - Tuesday, May 15, 2018

SUBJECT:      DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS MICHAEL J. WELCH

 

PIERRE PART Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael J. Welch, 50, of 2059 Levee Highway, Pierre Part, LA, on drug law violations following a Saturday evening medical incident in Pierre Part.

Deputies and Acadian Ambulance personnel were dispatched to a residence for a medical emergency.  Upon arrival, Welch appeared to be in some distress.  Deputies were advised that Welch had been using drugs that day.

While at the scene, deputies located, noted and seized a quantity of suspected meth-amphetamine and assorted paraphernalia.

Welch was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Teche Regional for treatment.

Welch was booked on Monday morning and was charged with:

            *Possession of Meth-Amphetamine with Intent to Distribute

            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Welch was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.  At the time of this arrest, Welch was out of jail on bond for an April 22, 2018 arrest in Assumption Parish on charges of Forgery and Felony Theft.
