SUBJECT:      HOME INVASION FREDDIE LUSHANE LEWIS

BELLE ROSE - Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Freddie Lushane Lewis, 38, of 10186 Tripett Street, St. James, LA, in connection with a July 1, 2017 home invasion in the Belle Rose area.

On that date, deputies responded to two separate complaints, two hours apart.  The complaints were filed by a former acquaintance of Lewis indicating a home invasion had occurred.

After the Belle Rose incident, deputies filed arrest warrants against Lewis but the suspect fled the area. Lewis was recently arrested in Manhattan, Kansas on the warrants from Assumption Parish.

Extradition proceedings began and on Thursday, Lewis was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

            *Home Invasion

*Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling

*Warrant for Failure to Appear (Domestic Abuse Charge)

Lewis was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
