BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that 67-year-old Wilfred Davis who was reported missing by family members on January 4th, was found safe around noon, Saturday by a deputy near Bayou L’Ourse, LA.

Davis, of Baton Rouge, left his home in route to see a friend on Airline Highway but never made it there.  That was on January 3rd.

Family members alerted law-enforcement authorities when it was apparent something was amiss.

A K-9 patrol unit stopped to check a pick-up truck which was parked on the eastbound shoulder of US 90 near the Assumption /Terrebonne Parish Line.  When the deputy conducted a check of the truck’s license plate, he determined that the vehicle was reported missing and the vehicle had been occupied by Davis.

The deputy found Davis slumped over the steering wheel and he was incoherent.  The deputy sought medical attention for Davis and after being checked out by Acadian Ambulance EMT’s and cleared, Davis was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was fed a hot meal and hydrated.

Davis, who suffers from dementia, had become lost and ran out of gas.  Family was notified and traveled to the Parish to tend to their loved one.
