BERTRANDVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon
reports the arrest of Kovadus Lee Johnson, 25, of 151 Jacobs Street, on charges
of attempted murder following a Wednesday afternoon incident.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a man with a gun
walking down the street. Once on scene,
deputies determined that Johnson was wanted on an unrelated charge of attempted

between Johnson and another individual.
Investigating deputies determined that Johnson was
involved in an argument Tuesday afternoon which resulted in him arming himself
with a high-powered rifle.
When deputies caught up with Johnson, he did not have
the weapon on his person. It was also
determined that Johnson did threaten individuals with that rifle on Tuesday
Johnson was transported to the parish jail and booked
on charges of:

He was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
