CONVICTED FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM - Wednesday, January 18, 2017

NAPOLEONVILLE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ronald Washington, Jr., 20, of 123 Foley Avenue on felony weapons charges after officers responded to a domestic disturbance near Napoleonville on Tuesday.

Responding officers confronted Mr. Washington, who had been irate and threatening to those around him. Deputies interviewed Washington and during that interview, deputies seized a large caliber handgun. Washington was placed under arrest and at one point, tried to flee. He was subdued by deputies during the course of a scuffle.

Washington was transported to the parish jail. Deputies learned that Washington was a convicted felon. Washington was booked on charges of:

*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

*Batter of a Police Officer

*Aggravated Assault

*Resisting an Officer

*Disturbing the Peace

Washington was jailed pending a bond hearing.
