DOMESTIC ABUSE - AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - Wednesday, January 18, 2017

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Christopher Skidmore, 23, of 132 Skidmore Street, Bertrandville, on multiple counts related to a domestic disturbance near Bertrandville on Tuesday.

Investigating officers made contact with the victim who indicated the suspect had beat her and pointed a gun at her head to inhibit her ability to leave the residence. Deputies were unable to locate Skidmore at the time, but he allegedly sliced the victim’s tires in St. James Parish later the same day. Deputies from Ascension and St James Parishes spotted Skidmore and subsequently gave chase, eventually stopping his vehicle.

Skidmore was charged as a fugitive from Assumption Parish, then transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was booked on counts of:

*Failure to Appear

*Reckless Operation

*Obstructed Windshield

*Resisting an Officer

*Domestic Abuse Battery (Felony)

*Aggravated Assault (Felony with a Firearm)

*False Imprisonment While Armed with a Dangerous Weapon

Skidmore remains jailed pending a bond hearing.
