NARCOTICS/WEAPONS ARREST - Monday, January 9, 2017

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dwayne Paul Hebert, 39, 131 Substation Street, on drug and weapons charges.

On Friday evening, an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s deputy received a text message misdirected by Hebert in which Hebert arranged to deliver crystal meth-amphetamine at a pre-determined location in Pierre Part. The patrol officer agreed to meet Hebert at the location. The deputy then mobilized the Narcotics Division to assist. When Hebert showed up, he was arrested. Deputies seized a quantity of meth-amphetamine and two firearms. Hebert was placed under arrest, transported to the parish detention center and booked on charges of:

*Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

*Possession of Meth Amphetamine with Intent to Distribute

*Resisting an Officer (2 Counts)

Hebert was jailed awaiting a bond hearing.

Hebert is the same individual arrested in early November accused of operating a meth-lab out of a boat. Hebert was out on a $90,000 bond for those charges.
