BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the January 2, 2017 arrest of Ramira Bazaldua, Jr., 28 of 36620 Anna Dale Road, Plaquemine, LA, on charges of Fourth Offense D.W.I. in connection with a traffic incident which occurred on 08-06-2016.
A uniformed patrol officer was called to the area of LA 1 and LA 1000 on January 2, 2017 in connection with a disabled vehicle. While the officer was investigating the stalled vehicle, he recognized Ramira Daniel Bazaldua, Jr. as being the same individual he encountered on 08-06-2016 while investigating an unrelated traffic incident. The deputy at that time had blood drawn from Mr. Bazaldua and submitted that sample to Louisiana State Police for analysis. The blood alcohol tested positive, resulting in the deputy filing an arrest warrant for Mr. Bazaldua for Fourth Offense D.W.I.
During Monday’s incident, Bazaldua was arrested, transported to the parish detention center and booked on charges of:
*Fourth Offense D.W.I.
*Failure to Appear
*Warrant for Driving Under Suspension
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages Inside of a Motor Vehicle
Bazaldua was incarcerated in the parish jail pending a bond hearing.
