COUNTERFEIT MONEY ARREST - Michael J. Lewis - Thursday, December 1, 2016

NAPOLEONVILLE  Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Michael J. Lewis, 22, of 212 Daggs Street, Belle Rose, LA on multiple warrants Wednesday night.

Deputies on patrol recognized a vehicle as one generally driven by Michael Lewis, and knew that Lewis was wanted on outstanding warrants in Assumption and Ascension Parishes.  Deputies pursued the vehicle to the Pecan Street area near Bertrandville at which time three subjects exited the vehicle and ran.  Deputies located Lewis in a horse stall and he was placed under arrest.  When deputies searched the vehicle, a Glock 22 handgun was recovered.  Deputies also searched the person ofMichael Lewis and located two counterfeit $100 bills.

Lewis was transported to the parish detention center and booked on charges of:

*Monetary Instrument Abuse

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer

*Resisting an Officer

*Driving Under Suspension

*Driving Without Headlights

*Warrants for Failure to Appear

Lewis was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
