MONETARY INSTRUMENT ABUSE - Friday, July 15, 2016

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of a 29-year-old Port Allen man on charges of Monetary Instrument Abuse and Misdemeanor Theft.

Billy Wayne Chapman, Jr. of 1822 Plantation Avenue is accused of entering B.J.’s Tavern in Belle Rose on February 20, 2016 where he allegedly paid for goods with counterfeit $100 bills.

The business establishment reported they had received the counterfeit bills.

Sheriff’s Detectives collected evidence which was submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab was able to identify Chapman through DNA analysis.

Chapman was booked into the parish jail on July 12, and his bond is set at $10,683.
