NARCOTICS ARREST - Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of a Napoleonville man following a lengthy and continuing investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Jimmy Converse, 40, of 220 Jefferson Street, Napoleonville was arrested Wednesday, June 29, 2016, following the execution of a search warrant at his home.

Converse was taken into custody and subsequently searched and agents recovered packets of suspected marijuana along with U.S. currency.

Once inside the home, agents located additional packages of suspected marijuana as well as individual baggies intended for resale, as well as additional cash which agents believe was the fruit of illegal narcotics sales.

Agents recovered one .38 caliber revolver, loaded, underneath a cushioned chair.  The serial number had been partially obliterated. Agents will attempt to identify the weapons owner.

Additionally, it was determined that Converse is a previously convicted felon.

Converse was booked into the parish jail on counts of:

*Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances

*Possession of / Dealing in Firearms with Obliterated Serial Number

*Possession of a Fireman by a Convicted Felon

*Possession of Marijuana, 2nd Offense Felony

*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Converse remains in the parish pending a bond hearing.
