Traffic Stop / Drug Law Violations - Tuesday, July 30, 2019

SUBJECT:      TRAFFIC STOP DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

                        BREY NICHOLAS ADAMS

 

 

PIERRE PART Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brey Nicholas Adams, 28, of 2404 East Pinhook, Lafayette, LA, on charges related to a Monday afternoon traffic stop in Belle River, LA.

 

Uniformed patrol deputies observed a vehicle in the area commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle.

 

The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Brey Nicholas Adams.

 

The patrol officer noted Adams to be extremely nervous.  Following the officer / driver interview, a K-9 unit was called in and subsequent to that, the K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the interior of the vehicle.

 

A search of the vehicle was conducted and a quantity of meth-amphetamine and drug paraphernalia was recovered.

 

Brey Nicholas Adams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on charges of:

 

            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

            *Possession of Meth-Amphetamine

 

Adams remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
