SUBJECT:      IDENTITY THEFT – CARLOS N. WILLIAMS, JR.

 

 

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Carlos N. Williams, Jr., 37, of 157 Pleasant Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on charges related to a fraudulent scheme with intent to obtain financial gain.

 

In April of 2017, a local business filed a criminal complaint with the Sheriff’s Office after discovering unauthorized charges made against the company’s checking account.

 

Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and were able to identify Carlos N. Williams, Jr. as a suspect.

 

Williams is accused of offering to pay the personal bills of several individuals as a good gesture and then received cash in an amount less than the actual bill, then paid the bill by charging to the company’s account.

 

A warrant was issued for Carlos N. Williams, Jr. and he was taken into custody on Wednesday.

 

Carlos N. Williams, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on one count of:

 

            *Identity Theft

 

Williams remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
