Jammin on the Lake 2019 - Monday, July 15, 2019

SUBJECT:      JAMMIN ON THE LAKE 2019

 

 

NAPOLEONVILLE – Sheriff Leland Falcon welcomes everyone to attend the 2019 Jammin on the Lake Cancer Society Fundraiser.  The event will be held in the same location as the 2018 event.  That area is near the Bayou Maxile / 4 Mile Bayou area bordering Lake Verret.

 

While we encourage all to attend to participate in this worthy cause, it is incumbent upon us as law-enforcement to exercise all measures to make the event incident free.

 

There will be a large presence of law-enforcement for the event as well as medical personnel arranged by the event promoters.

 

While we do not recommend operating watercraft while consuming alcohol, we suggest responsible consumption of alcohol products at the event.

 

Below are rules and regulations provided by the event which we have carefully reviewed and concur with.  We do reserve the right to amend or change any safety measures should circumstances dictate.

Again, please do you part in keeping the event safe.

- The event can only be accessed by boat.  The owner / operator is required to provide all documentation and safety equipment mandated by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to satisfy all boating requirements.

- Vessels and houseboats attending the event shall not extend south past midway of the channel and cannot impede the normal flow of the boating public and / or commercial traffic.  Channel traffic has right of way at all times.

- There will be a roped off area for participants to utilize in front of the barge.  There will be no motorized watercraft permitted in this area.  This is a swimmer’s area.  Use of personal flotation devices for swimmers is encouraged.

- Swimmers / Participants enter in the water at your own risk.  There will be no life guards on duty.

- Floating pools will be provided to collect all trash accumulated.  Please make use of them.  The waterway should be left as you found it.

- The coordinates for the event are 29.8274 latitude and 91.1047 longitude.
