Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm - Monday, July 1, 2019

SUBJECT:      ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM

                        TYRESE JEREMIAH DAVIS

 

 

PLATTENVILLE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tyrese Jeremiah Davis, 20, of 5416 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, on charges related to a Sunday afternoon complaint.

 

Deputies responded to a complaint of an automobile driving in a reckless manner near a local business.  Deputies located the vehicle parked at the place of business.  Deputies identified the driver as Tyrese Jeremiah Davis.  During the officer / driver interview, Davis appeared to be extremely nervous.  Deputies requested consent to search the vehicle from Davis but he refused.  A K-9 unit conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the interior.  A search of the vehicle yielded a large caliber handgun.  A computer check revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen from Ascension Parish.

 

Tyrese Jeremiah Davis was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

           

            *Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

 

Davis remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
