Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling - Tuesday, June 25, 2019

PIERRE PART Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Chad Canella, 36, of 5757 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA and Jeremy P. Gros, 38, of 3631-A Keith Street, Pierre Part, LA, in connection with a recent burglary in the Belle River area.


Deputies responded to a complaint on June 18, 2019 and determined that a burglary had occurred.


Investigating detectives noted forced entry and numerous items had been stolen.  As a result of that investigation, Chad Canella and Jeremy Gros were identified as potential suspects.  Detectives interviewed both suspects and during that process, the duo made incriminating statements.


Detectives executed a search warrant during the investigation and were able to recover some evidence including firearms.  


Jeremy Gros is a previously convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.


Based on all facets of the investigation, Chad Canella was booked on charges of:


            *Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

            *Felony Theft


He was arrested on Thursday.  His bond was set at $25,000. 


Jeremy Gros was arrested on Friday and booked on charges of:


            *Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

            *Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

            *Felony Theft


Gros posted bond in the amount of $30,000.
