                        FLOODING EVENT

NAPOLEONVILLE – On Tuesday, Sheriff Leland Falcon purchased a sandbagging machine to utilize in what has now become a major flood event.

"In the past as well as the current flooding event, I have had to borrow machines from the State to bag sand.  That leaves us in a precarious position as those machines are needed by many agencies in many areas”.  I can now say; we have our own sand bagging machine.  This gives us the ability to get somewhat ahead of the process during the non-high-water periods”, Falcon said.

"I do want the public to understand that this type of event is a major undertaking that takes a lot of agencies and people working together. The Police Jury, OEP, Department of Corrections, all participated in a major way to combat flooding, from providing sand, to front end loaders to labor and even providing food and drinks.  I want to thank each and every person, organization and public agency for their hand in this catastrophic event.  Let’s continue to fight this to the very end,” Falcon said.
