Auto Theft - Wednesday, May 1, 2019

SUBJECT:      AUTO THEFT – ISSAC JULIAN

 

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Issac Julian, 39, of 204 Grimsby Street, Lafayette, LA, on auto theft related charges dating back to November 26, 2017.

On that date, deputies answered a complaint from a local resident who indicated that he loaned his truck to a friend and the truck would be returned in 2 hours. The complainant loss contact with the friend who quit taking his calls.

Investigating officers entered the vehicle as stolen in the NCIC data base.

In January 2018, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies learned that the stolen truck had been involved in a pursuit with Louisiana State Police Troop I.  The vehicle was recovered but the driver was not located.

Through investigation, deputies learned that the individual who stole the truck was indeed Issac Julian.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Issac Julian for theft of a motor vehicle (felony). 

Issac Julian was captured in the state of Texas on April 25, 2019.  Julian was returned to Louisiana and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on April 25, 2019
