Simple Burglary of a Religious Building - Monday, April 8, 2019

SUBJECT:      SIMPLE BURGLARY OF A RELIGIOUS BUILDING

                        SAGE CLIFTON and JASON CLIFTON

 

BELLE ROSE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sage Clifton, 18, of 7322 Highway 1, Belle Rose, LA, in connection with the burglary of a religious building on or about November 15, 2018.

 

Detectives also issued warrants to arrest Jason Clifton, 37, of 6834 Highway 1, Belle Rose, LA, for simple burglary of the same religious building.

 

Detectives were called to the religious institution and noted that numerous items had been stolen from inside the church hall.  Detectives were able to collect evidence which led to these two suspects.

 

Detectives received a scientific match to Jason Clifton, from some particles of evidence recovered.

 

Detectives also interviewed Sage Clifton and determined that he had participated in the crime as well.

 

Detectives secured arrest warrants for both suspects.  Sage Clifton was arrested on Friday and booked on one count of:

                       

            *Simple Burglary of a Religious Building

 

A warrant charging Jason Clifton with the same was secured. 

 

Jason Clifton is incarcerated in Ascension Parish and will be booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center after he satisfies the Ascension charges.

 

 Bond on Sage Clifton is set at $10,000.
