Felony Theft - Friday, April 5, 2019

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jeremy Thibodaux, 29, of 346H Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA, on charges of felony theft in connection with a Craig’s List advertisement.

On January 17, 2019, Sheriff’s Detectives initiated an investigation after receiving a report from the Eugene, Oregon Police Department alleging that Thibodaux advertised the sale of a musical instrument.

The victim sent payment of $1500 in the form of a check and Thibodaux deposited the check into his personal bank account.

Thibodaux never sent the instrument to the purchaser.

Detectives interviewed Thibodaux on April 4, 2019 at which time Thibodaux acknowledged his participation in the scheme.

Thibodaux was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

            *Felony Theft (1 Count)

He remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
