SUBJECT:      RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY – DONNIE DAIGLE

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Donnie Daigle, 28, of 209 Jefferson Street, Napoleonville, LA, on charges related to a residential burglary in Plattenville on or about April 27, 2017.

Initially, Sheriff’s detectives arrested two suspects, Kentrell Sanders, 38, of 5768 Highway 308 Plattenville, LA and Bryan Simoneaux, 31, of 5824 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA.

As part of the same investigation, detectives had issued arrest warrants charging Donnie Daigle with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Misdemeanor Theft.  Those warrants were issued in May 2018 but Daigle had eluded arrest.

On November 9, 2018, a uniformed patrol deputy attempted to stop a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner near LA 1 and LA 400 South of Napoleonville.  The driver exited the vehicle and again evaded capture.  However, the deputy was able to positively identify Donnie Daigle as the driver.  Additional warrants were obtained charging Daigle with Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

On March 31, 2019, Daigle was spotted driving a vehicle near Napoleonville, but as the pursuing deputy gave chase, Daigle again jumped from the vehicle and made his getaway.  Additional warrants were secured for Daigle’s arrest.

On Wednesday, Detectives and narcotics agents observed Daigle on the front porch of his residence.  As agents approached, Daigle fled into the home, but was captured and taken into custody.

Donnie Daigle was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

*Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle

            *Misdemeanor Theft

            *Aggravated Flight form an Officer

*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
