LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Vaughn P. Price, Sr., following a Friday afternoon incident in Labadieville, LA.

Deputies were dispatched to Brule Road after a witness reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that later fled the area.

Deputies arrived on scene and interviewed the victim as well as the witness and determined that the incident may have been intentional.

Through the investigation, deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle and the driver, Vaughn P. Price, Sr., 52, of 134-A Maple Street, Labadieville.

Although Price denied the accusations, it was determined that Price had struck an individual with his vehicle, then attempted to run over the victim a second time.  It is believed that the victim and the suspect had some past history.  The specifics of those differences are not yet known.

As a result of Price’s actions, he was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (vehicle)

            *Aggravated Battery

Price posted a $35,000 bond.

The victim’s injuries were minor.
