Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling - Monday, March 11, 2019

SUBJECT:      SIMPLE BURGLARY OF AN INHABITED DWELLING

                        RENE STARKS, SR.

 

 

NAPOLEONVILLE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rene Starks, Sr. on charges related to a residential burglary which occurred between November 9, 2018 and November 11, 2018, near Napoleonville, LA.

 

Starks, already in jail on a number of felony drug charges, was booked on Thursday in connection with the residential burglary.

 

Upon arrival at the scene of the burglary, detectives noted forced entry and access through a rear door.  Electronics, jewelry and numerous other items were stolen from the residence.

 

Detectives obtained scientific evidence off of particular items at the onset of the investigation and those samples were submitted to the LA State Police Crime Lab for analysis along with known samples from the suspect.

 

Based on crime lab results along with other evidence, a warrant charging Rene
Starks, Sr. was issued and he was booked accordingly with:

           

            *Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

 

Rene Starks, Sr. is being held on bonds totaling $34,000.

 

Starks has an extensive criminal history dating back over 20 years with multiple felony convictions.
