NAPOLEONVILLE Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Matthew Joseph Madere, 30, of 5494 Highway 308, Napoleonville, LA, on charges following an investigative stop on Tuesday.

Deputies were dispatched to a complaint concerning the removal of an unruly person from a residence in Napoleonville.

During the course of investigating that complaint, deputies received information that Matthew Joseph Madere was in possession of illegal narcotics and was traveling in a vehicle in the area.

Deputies located the vehicle Madere was driving and stopped the vehicle.  Madere was interviewed and as a result of that interview, a K-9 was called to service to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal drugs.

At some point, Madere granted permission to search the vehicle.  As a result of that search a quantity of meth amphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia was seized.

Madere was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

            *Possession of Meth Amphetamine

            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Madere was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
