TO:                  ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
FROM:            SHERIFF LELAND FALCON
SUBJECT:      DOMESTIC ABUSE / ATTEMPTED TRAFFIC STOP - RASHIED GREEN

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rashied Green, 34, of 160 Georgette Street, Labadieville, LA, in connection with two unrelated felony cases which occurred over the 2018 calendar year.

Green was arrested late Thursday after Sheriff’s deputies received information that Green was inside the Bird’s Nest Night Club near Labadieville.  Green was located hiding in the women’s restroom and taken into custody.

The first incident occurred on or about January 20, 2018 when Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic situation in Napoleonville.

Once at the scene, deputies interviewed the victim who was in a relationship with Green.  The victim indicated that she was pregnant and that Green had repeatedly struck her and trashed the home.  Green was no longer at the scene.  Deputies obtained felony arrest warrants for Green but could not immediately locate him.

In the second matter, on February 21, 2018, narcotics agents were southbound on LA 1 near Labadieville when they observed a vehicle enter the roadway from a private drive at a high rate of speed and in a careless manner.

Agents attempted at some point to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The car then crossed over to La 308.  Agents continued to pursue the suspect vehicle and secured assistance from the patrol division.

The vehicle returned to LA 1 heading north at which time the suspect vehicle rammed a police Tahoe near LA 400.  The suspect whom officers were able to identify as Rashied Green, stopped his vehicle and fled on foot and remained at large until Thursday night.

Green was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Domestic Abuse Battery of a Pregnant Victim with Child Endangerment

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer

*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property

*Failure to Yield

*Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Green was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
