BAYOU
L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Danny
Willis, 33, of 155 Felicia Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA and James Aucoin, 35, also
of 155 Felicia Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on charges stemming from an ongoing
burglary investigation in the Bayou L’Ourse area.
On
November 26, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division went to a residence
located at 155 Felicia Street in Bayou L’Ourse for the purpose of executing an
arrest warrant and search warrant for Lucien Aucoin, 57 years of age. The warrants were in connection with an
ongoing burglary investigation.
During
the search for Lucien Aucoin, detectives located a person identified as Danny
Willis. A National Crime Information Center
database check revealed that Willis was a fugitive from Brevard County,
Florida. Willis was wanted on a
probation violation related to a theft and fraud investigation. Willis was taken into custody and booked into
the Assumption Parish Detention Center awaiting extradition to Brevard County,
Florida.
Also,
during the same search, detectives located a rifle under a bed utilized by
James Aucoin. Investigators determined
that Aucoin was a convicted felon which prohibited him from possessing a
firearm either constructively or otherwise.
James Aucoin was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish
Detention Center and booked on a charge of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a
Convicted Felon
He
was being held awaiting a bond hearing.
Warrants
remain outstanding for the arrest of Lucien Aucoin for 3 counts of Simple
Burglary. Detectives did recover
assorted items related to the ongoing burglary investigation.
