Identity Theft Crimes - Tuesday, November 27, 2018

SUBJECT:      IDENTITY THEFT CRIMES – ALEXIS R. JOHNSON

 

 

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Alexis R. Johnson, 24, of 108 Highway 1011, Napoleonville, LA, on charges related to obtaining improper financial gains through identity theft.

 

On November 20, 2018, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s deputies received a complaint related to Alexis R. Johnson engaging in illegal activity to obtain money by using a relative’s identifying information. Johnson was authorized to access the account to pay the relative’s financial obligations.  Instead, Johnson withdrew nearly $4000 in cash and converted those funds to her own personal use.

 

On November 6, 2018 detectives questioned Johnson concerning the matter.  Based on inculpatory statements made by Johnson as well as a trail of financially related documentary evidence, Johnson was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

 

            *Identify Theft (1 Count – Felony)

 

Johnson was incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
