Drug Law Violations - Monday, November 26, 2018

NAPOLEONVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rico R. Lang, 28, of 363 Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA, following a complaint early Saturday afternoon.


On Saturday, deputies responded to a complaint of 2 individuals walking northbound on LA 1 south of Napoleonville with at least one of the individuals attempting to sell illegal narcotics.


Deputies located the two individuals.  The deputy observed one of the individuals cross the highway, then returned to his original position as the deputy turned around.


The deputy made contact with both subjects, one of which was identified as Rico R. Lang.  The suspect was questioned and detained.  Assistance from the K-9 division arrived and deputies were able to locate illegal narcotics placed across the roadway by Lang.  Based on the interview with Lang as well as other relevant factors, Lang was arrested, transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:


            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia


            *Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute


            *Possession of MDMA with Intent to Distribute


            *Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense, Misdemeanor)


Lang was booked into the parish jail pending a bond hearing.
