SUBJECT: THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY SAFETY
MESSAGE
NAPOLEONVILLE
– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reminds the motoring public that the
sugarcane grinding season has fallen victim to abnormal rainy conditions. As a result, you can expect roadways to be
slippery.
Also,
ongoing traffic nightmares continue as a result of the Sunshine Bridge accident. Therefore, you may want to consider adjusting
your traveling routes and times accordingly.
Finally,
crime has upticked dramatically in major holiday shopping areas. You should take every precaution necessary to
make your holiday excursions safe ones.
- Keep your children close to you
- Know your surroundings
- Park in lighted areas
- Shop during daylight hours as much
as possible
- Secure your packages in your trunk
- Carry as little cash as possible
- Don’t shop alone
- Use good common sense
Thank
you, Sheriff Leland Falcon.
