TO:                  ALL MEDIA OUTLETS
FROM:            SHERIFF LELAND FALCON
SUBJECT:      LIVINGSTON FUGITIVE – SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

JOHN CHRISTOPHER TEMPLET

GRAND BAYOU – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of John Christopher Templet, 35, of 31871 Weis Road, Walker, LA, on a fugitive warrant and other criminal charges.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked at a convenience store and truck stop.  Upon arrival, deputies spoke to and identified the occupant of the vehicle as John Christopher Templet.  The subject was advised to move on.

A short time, later, Templet is alleged to have circled twice directly in front of the deputies’ vehicles. Deputies stopped the vehicle and Templet exited and approached deputies very aggressively and a scuffle ensued. Templet was arrested and, in the process, deputies learned that Templet was wanted on a fugitive warrant from Livingston Parish for D.W.I. and resisting an officer.

A K-9 unit conducted an open-air sniff of Templet’s vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.  A search yielded a quantity of suspected marijuana and assorted paraphernalia.

Templet was transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center and booked on charges of:

            *Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

            *Possession of Marijuana

            *Disturbing the Peace

*Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence

            *Fugitive Warrant from Livingston Parish

Templet was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
